Adolf Bauer (born March 6 in Friesoythe 1940 ) is a German politician ( SPD ) and since 2003 President of the Social Association of Germany (SoVD).

Career

Adolf Bauer is the child of a war widow . His father fell in early February 1942. After training as a technician and studying engineering , he completed a teaching degree at the University of Oldenburg from 1962 to 1965 with the examination subjects of pedagogy , psychology , politics , geography and mathematics . From 1965 to 1971 he worked as a teacher at various elementary and secondary schools in the Oldenburg region . Then until 1975 primary school director in Altjührden near Varel . From 1975 to 2001 he moved to a school center in Westerstede . Bauer is unionized in the GEW .

politics

Since 1969 he has been actively involved in local politics and has been a member of the Westerstede City Council for the SPD since 1986 ; From 1991 to 2006 he was elected to the district council of the Ammerland district and was a member and chairman of social committees. During this time he was also a member of the board of directors of Ammerland-Klinik-GmbH and the boards of directors of Ammerländer-Wohnungsbau-GmbH.

Social association

In 1981 he joined the SoVD local association Westerstede, at that time still Reichsbund. From 1988 to 2018 he took over the chairmanship. In 1995 he was elected to the state executive; In 2003 he took over the chairmanship until 2019. In 2003, Bauer became SoVD President and is now in his fifth term of office.
