Adolf Christen (born August 7, 1811 in Berlin , † July 13, 1883 in Munich ) was a Bavarian court actor and director and theater director of the Aktientheater in Munich.

Life

After completing the trade school, he was designated for the merchant class . He didn't like the same thing, however, and so he tried the machine fitter . Since he did not like this profession either, he began acting and took the stage for the first time in Wittenberg in 1831 . After long wanderings, Friedrich Jahn invited him to an audition on October 1, 1842 at the Munich Court Theater. This led to his commitment, he then stayed in Munich for more than 30 years.

After the death of Klara Ziegler's father, he took over her guardianship . At first he was opposed to her desire to become an actress. Still, he gave in and gave her lessons. In 1876 he married Klara Ziegler.

The family grave of the two is on the old southern cemetery in Munich (New Arkadenplatz 121 at cemetery 38) location .
