Adolf Erben

Adolf Erben (born October 10, 1904 in Náchod in Eastern Bohemia ; † February 16, 1987 in Brno , Czechoslovakia ) was a Czechoslovak architect .

Life

Adolf Erben attended high school in Nachod and studied architecture and structural engineering at the Technical University in Prague from 1923 to 1987 . After graduating, he worked from January 1, 1929 to October 31, 1931 as an engineer architect for the Václav Reichl company in Königgrätz . He then worked as an assistant at the Institute for Architecture and Urban Development at the Brno University of Technology . At the same time he worked for the architectural office of the institute director Adolf Liebscher. From 1934 he taught at the State Trade School in Brno and in 1958 was appointed professor at the Faculty of Architecture and Building Construction of the TH Brno, where he taught structural engineering.

Adolf Erben held several offices in various building, testing and expert commissions. He was a member of the Association of Czechoslovak Engineers and Architects, the Association of Czechoslovak Architects and the Czechoslovak Scientific and Technical Society. The Brno University of Technology awarded him the Silver Commemorative Medal.

Several administrative buildings, residential buildings, banks and other commercial objects were built according to Erben's plans. He carried out most of his building projects in his hometown of Náchod. There he built a villa for himself and his family on Máchova ulice from 1939 to 1940.
