Adolf Gerstung

Adolf Ernst Gerstung (born May 14, 1909 in Kassel ; † February 21, 1991 ) was a German actor .

Life

Gerstung completed an acting training in 1928/29 at the Von Bodenhausenschen drama school. He made his stage debut in 1929 as "Melchthal" in Friedrich von Schiller's Wilhelm Tell at the Greifswald City Theater. Engagements in Rudolstadt 1931/32, Glogau 1932/33, Ingolstadt 1933/34, at the Bayerische Landesbühne 1934/35, in Koblenz 1935–1938, Gera 1938–1941, Essen 1941–1947, Hanover 1947–1949, Bochum 1949– followed. 1951, Aachen, Lübeck and Bonn. In 1951 he played "Götz von Berlichingen" at the Götz Festival in Jagsthausen , and in 1954 "Wilhelm Tell" at the Loreley Festival.

He played several times on television under the direction of Franz Peter Wirth : in 1961 in his Hamlet adaptation with Maximilian Schell in the title role and in 1964 in The Story of Joel Brand after Heinar Kipphardt . From 1963 he was part of the regular cast of the Fernfahrer series as "Latzke" alongside Pit Krüger .
