Adolf Jelletz
Adolf Jelletz (born March 22, 1879 in Vienna ; † July 14, 1936 there ) was an Austrian architect .
Life
Adolf Jelletz came from a Jewish family. From 1896 to 1902 he attended the building school of the Technical University , where he was a student of Karl König , Karl Mayreder and Max von Ferstel . He then worked in various architectural offices until he started working independently from 1909. His life and work are poorly documented, but it seems that Jelletz did not receive and carry out too many building contracts. He was buried in the Dobling cemetery .
meaning
Adolf Jelletz was able to build a few houses, especially before 1914. His buildings are well-proportioned and simple, they largely dispense with decor and have a certain rationality. Based on designs by Arthur Grünberger , he built the Hietzingen synagogue from 1924–1926 , which was destroyed in 1938.
