Adolf Karl Wilhelm Ferdinand Kreusler (born April 12, 1824 in Arolsen , †  April 12, 1894 in Hamburg ) was a German Protestant theologian and senior pastor at St. Petri in Hamburg.

Life

Kreusler studied Protestant theology at the University of Jena from 1844 . Between 1847 and 1850 he worked as a private teacher. He then became an early preacher and vice rector in Mengeringhausen and later rector in Pyrmont . In 1853 he was elected pastor at the Oesdorf Church in Pyrmont.

In 1871 he became senior pastor at St. Petri in Hamburg. Kreusler made a special contribution to the reconstruction of the church tower, which was destroyed in the great fire of 1842. From 1891 until his death, he was a senior , the Senior clergy of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Hamburg state .

Adolf Kreusler is commemorated on the double grave plate, main pastors to St. Petri / pastors to St. Petri of the Althamburg Memorial Cemetery, Ohlsdorf Cemetery .

The street next to the Petrikirche in Hamburg's old town was named after him in Kreuslerstraße .
