Adolf Sahala Rajagukguk

Adolf Sahala Rajagukguk (* 31 August 1938 in Muara , Nordtapanuli , North Sumatra , Dutch East Indies ; † 11. November 2002 in Pangururan , Samosir , North Sumatra, Indonesia ) was an Indonesian officer . He retired with the rank of Lieutenant General of the Infantry. Before that he held the position of Wakasad , the deputy chief of the army staff of the Indonesian army .

As a Colonel, Rajagukguk created the Korem Military District ( Subregional Command ) 164 / Wira Dharma in 1979 in East Timor, which was occupied by Indonesia, and he became its commander. According to the East Timor Reception, Truth and Reconciliation Commission (CAVR), people were systematically killed or disappeared by the Indonesian occupation forces. This was organized by the Korem under the command of Colonel Rajagukguk. Its job was to eliminate the leaders and activists of the resistance. A 1982 document signed by Rajagukguk allows torture during interrogation in the fight against the East Timorese resistance movement. Rajagukguk also gave instructions in the document to cover up the torture.

From June 1985 to March 1986, Brigadier General Rajagukguk was an operations assistant to the Chief of Staff. As major general he was commander of Kodam XVI Udayana / Kodam IX Udayana until August 1987 and from August 21, 1987 to March 28, 1988, commander of the Strategic Army Reserve Command ( Kostrad ).

From 1987 to 1988, Rajagukguk was the commander of the Strategic Reserve Command, before becoming Wakasad from 1988 to 1992 . From 1992 to 1996, Rajagukguk was Indonesia's ambassador to India .
