Adolf Schimmelpfennig (born February 8, 1834 in Płock ; † June 29, 1896 in Warsaw ) was an architect of German descent, active in Poland.

Life

Adolf Schimmelpfennig was born the son of a chief accountant. After graduating from the Humanistic Gymnasium in Płock, he studied law in Königsberg from 1848 . During his studies in 1848 he became a member of the Germania Königsberg fraternity . From 1853 to 1857 he studied architecture at the Warsaw School of Fine Arts .

After studying in Italy, he took part in the award-winning project to rebuild the Warsaw City Hall. 1863-1875 he held the office of mayor of Rastenburg .

Adolf Schimmelpfennig was buried in the Evangelical-Augsburg Cemetery in Warsaw .
