Adolf Schwarte (born January 28, 1935 in Gladbeck ) is a former German middle-distance runner .

biography

After Schwarte had won a gold medal over 1500 meters at the German championships in 1960 , he was allowed to start in the 1500-meter run at the 1960 Olympic Games in Rome . However, he was eliminated in the preliminary run. At the German indoor championships in 1956 and 1960 , he also won the championship title over this distance.

After his active career, he remained in athletics as a coach of several clubs in North Rhine-Westphalia .
