Adolf von Koenigsmarck
Adolf Wilhelm Hans Graf von Königsmarck (* October 7, 1802 , † July 28, 1875 ) was a member of the Brandenburg state parliament and a Prussian major.
origin
His parents were Hans Valentin von Königsmarck (* June 7, 1773; † November 26, 1849) and his wife Henriette von Struensee (1779-1832), who was the daughter of Finance Minister Carl August von Struensee . His brother Hans (1799–1876) was envoy to Constantinople and a member of the Prussian mansion, Otto (1815–1889) was President of the Province of Posen and briefly Prussia's Minister of Agriculture.
Life
Adolf von Königsmarck became Vice-Ober-Schlosshauptmann von Rheinsberg with the title “Excellency”, Canon zu Havelberg - although the cathedral chapter had actually already been dissolved, Adolf von Königsmarck received a prebend of 400 thalers every quarter from 1825 onwards at the request of his father -, member of the state parliament Kurmark Brandenburg and Prussian major .
In 1848 Adolf von Königsmarck was an adjutant to Prince Wilhelm . A letter from the prince dated March 12th of this year, which was probably addressed to the head of the guard infantry, Karl Ludwig von Prittwitz , urging rapid and violent crackdowns in the event of revolutionary gatherings around the castle, was later found in the archives of the von Königsmarck family. In this letter, Wilhelm had insisted that at least three battalions should be set in motion in the event of a move out. On March 15, unlike three days later, only a single battalion was ready to protect the castle. It is unknown whether Adolf von Königsmarck did not hand over the letter at all or whether he received it again after inspection by the addressee and kept it later. A deliberate embezzlement by Adolf von Königsmarck in the sense of de-escalation is hardly conceivable, however, since a few days later, on March 18, he passed on a similar mandate from the prince, apparently in a very tightened form: Wilhelm had ordered the palace square by cavalry cleared, but expressly added that the horse should be ridden at a slow pace and not with sabers drawn. The execution did not correspond to the order, but happened at a sharp trot and with naked weapons. Karl August Varnhagen von Ense , who lived in Königsmarck's Palais , passed on Königsmarck's reaction to discussions on this topic: He “smiled comfortably at the doubt and said that one should have done a lot of trouble with the rabble?” For a moment Before the prince escaped from the Berlin Palace, he is said to have put further lines with orders on paper, but these remained unfinished. Even then it was speculated that these lines would also remain with Count Königsmarck.
family
In 1825 he married Josephine von Miaskowska († January 9, 1862), a daughter of Marianne von der Mark . The marriage resulted in three daughters and one son:
- Elisabeth (* November 22, 1825; † October 14, 1901) ⚭ May 18, 1853 Gustav Gans zu Putlitz (lived in the Königsmarckschen Palais in Berlin )
