Adolph Ludwig Graf zu Solms , Herr zu Münzenberg, own spelling: Adolph Ludewig Graf zu Solms (born August 22, 1706 in Rösa ; † October 16, 1760 ) was a royal Polish and electoral Saxon chamberlain and manor owner .

Life

He came from the noble family of the Counts of Solms , specifically from the Saxon branch of the Solms-Lich line founded by Philipp Graf zu Solms in 1537 . Like many members of his family, he also embarked on an administrative career at the Dresden court , where he initially became a chamberlain and after reaching the age of majority, he became titular chamberlain.

Adolph Ludwig Graf zu Solms received the manor Rösa from his father's inheritance. For this estate he acquired the Schköna manor from Friedrich Amandus von der Lochau in September 1728 , which became the seat of his family branch of the Counts of Solms until it was expropriated by the land reform in September 1945. The Schköna castle is used as a private residence today.

Within the family, he made himself at times quite unpopular through a debt suit after a lawsuit against a family member sitting on a pouch in 1751 .

When he died at the age of 54 in 1760, he left the two manors Schköna and Rösa with the associated village of Krina to his only son, Otto Heinrich Ludwig Graf zu Solms (1740-1814). He died as a Privy Councilor in 1814 as Count zu Solms-Sonnewalde on Schköna on March 3, 1814 as the “registrar of the Sonnewalde rule”.

The daughter Henriette Wilhelmine Juliane Louise (1731–1798) was divorced from her husband, a Freiherr von Ochsenstein, in 1760. She was in a relationship with the Prussian Major General Ludwig von Buddenbrock , with whom she had illegitimate children who in 1774 were legitimized by the Prussian king as noble and with the paternal family name.
