Adolph von Danckelmann (Legation Councilor)

Adolph Albrecht Friedrich Wilhelm Freiherr von Danckelmann , also Dankelmann , (born November 5, 1779 in Chinsura , † November 29, 1820 in Bibra ) was a German adventurer. He was active as a Saxon-Coburg Oberbergrat and a real Saxon Legation Councilor and an acquaintance of Johann Wolfgang von Goethe .

Life

He came from the the baron raised noble family Danckelmann on Lodersleben . His father, who died young, was Wilhelm Freiherr von Danckelmann and his stepfather Ludwig Philipp Gottlob Freiherr von Danckelmann , who was district director in Querfurt and whose family owned the three manors in Lodersleben.

His brother William Freiherr von Danckelmann left to him and his youngest brother Cornelius the two thirds of the half of the two manors in Lodersleben, called the Schuttsacksche and the Marschallsche Gut, which were ceded by their father in 1802.

He was married to the sister of the actress Karoline Jagemann since 1806. The marriage with Marianne (Mariana) Jagemann was divorced again in 1815. His wife appeared as a singer under the name Marianne von Danckelmann. From this marriage u. a. the daughter Marianne (Mariana), born in Coburg in 1807, emerged. He himself died of dropsy shortly after his 41st birthday .
