Adolph of Minutoli

Adolph Hermann Emil Eugen Adalbert Menu von Minutoli (born May 31, 1802 in Berlin , † April 6, 1848 in Meiningen ) was court marshal in Sachsen-Meiningen .

Life

Adolph was the eldest son of Major Heinrich Menu von Minutoli and Sophie Charlotte, b. from Woldeck . His father was the tutor of Carl von Prussia , the third son of King Friedrich Wilhelm III. of Prussia and leader of the first Prussian expedition to Egypt ; his collection forms the basis of the Egyptian Museum in Berlin . Adolph von Minutoli's brother Julius was the Berlin police chief, mediating between the people and the king, in 1848. Another brother, Alexander , was the founder of the world's first arts and crafts museum in Liegnitz and made a name for himself in the development of industry in Silesia.

After graduating from the Friedrichwerder Gymnasium in Berlin, Adolph von Minutoli studied law and administrative sciences in Berlin and Göttingen.

In 1843 he became court marshal to Duke Bernhard II of Saxony-Meiningen . Adolph von Minutoli died five years later, a few hours after a gunshot ambushed by his footman's friend.
