Adolphe Chenevière
Adolphe Chenevière (born January 30, 1855 in Geneva , † July 7, 1917 in Collonge-Bellerive ) was a Swiss writer and Romanist .
life and work
Chenevière completed his habilitation in 1886 at the Sorbonne with the two Thèses Bonaventure des Périers . Sa vie. Sa poésie (Paris, Plon, 1886; Geneva, Slatkine, 1969) and De Plutarchi familiaribus (Paris, Plon, 1886). Then he was successful as a novelist in France, but is now forgotten as such. His novel Honneur de femme (Paris 1893) was translated into German ud T. Frauenehre (by Ina Bach, Stuttgart and Leipzig, Deutsche Verlags-Anstalt, 1900). He was a Knight of the Legion of Honor .
