Adrian Borza

Adrian Borza (born January 19, 1967 in Turda ) is a Romanian composer and music teacher .

Life

Borza completed violin and piano training at the College Sigismund Toduță in Cluj-Napoca from 1974 . From 1987 to 1990 he studied composition with Cristian Misievici at the University of Iasi, then until 1992 with Cornel Țăranu at the Gheorghe Dima Music Academy in Cluj-Napoca. Finally he took courses in music analysis and composition with Pascal Bentoiu (1988), Aurel Stroe (1994) and Lucian Mețianu (1995).

From 1992 to 2004 he taught music analysis at the Gheorghe Dima Music Academy , from 1993 to 1995 harmony and choral setting. In 1995 he initiated the introduction of courses for electronic music, which he gave until 2001. In 2004 he earned a Ph. D. in Music with a thesis Computer Assisted Composition Techniques in Personal Works .

In 2000 he founded the recording studio CMP / Computer Music Production , which he managed until 2004. Here he worked with composers such as Ioan Goilă, János Kőrössy , Adrian Pop, Nicolas Simion , Valentin Timaru, David Tuil, Erich Türk, Hans Peter Türk and Cornel Țăranu. He then became an audio engineering consultant at the University of Montreal's Music Faculty . Borza designed various programs for the generation of computer and electroacoustic music.

The focus of his compositional activity is electroacoustic music, he has also created orchestral and choral works, chamber music and pieces for solo instruments.
