Adrian Richard Cashmore (born July 23, 1973 in Tokoroa , New Zealand ) is a former New Zealand rugby union player in the position of goalkeeper . One of his strengths was the penalty kicks and increases on the opposing poles.
He went to school at Tauranga Boys College. In 1992, at the age of 19, he was appointed to the Bay of Plenty RU selection team. After three seasons, he moved to Auckland RFU in 1995 . With Auckland he won the National Provincial Championship (NPC) in 1995, 1996 and 1999 and the Ranfurly Shield in 1995 and 1996 .
After the sport of rugby union officially became professional in late 1995, Cashmore also played for the Blues franchise in the newly founded Super 12 . He won the title with the Blues in 1996 and 1997.
Cashmore also played in two international matches for the New Zealand national team (All Blacks) during his career . He played in 1996 on the November tour of the All Blacks against the Scottish national team and in 1997 in the Tri Nations against the Australian national team (Wallabies). He was substituted on both times. Furthermore, he also ran several times for the national team of the New Zealand Māori .
At the end of 2000 he moved to Toyota Verblitz in Japan for financial reasons. In 2004 he returned to New Zealand and played again for Bay of Plenty in the NPC and for the Chiefs in the Super 12. With him Bay of Plenty played the best season since the association was founded, as they won the Ranfurly Shield against Auckland and reached the semi-finals of the NPC. In 2005 he ran for the province in their 20:34 defeat against the British and Irish Lions touring New Zealand .
At the end of 2005 he moved to Europe to the Welsh Ospreys in the Celtic League . There he had to announce his retirement from active rugby after just a few games in May 2006 due to a neck injury.
After retiring from gaming, he returned to New Zealand with his family.
