Adrián de Vicente

Néstor Adrián de Vicente (born June 16, 1964 , † March 20, 2011 ) was an Argentine football player .

Athletic career

De Vicente began his professional career at CA River Plate in 1982 . Short-term engagements at Instituto Atlético Central Córdoba , Club Atlético Talleres and Club Atlético Platense followed from 1985 , before he came to Europe in 1989. At the Swiss club Grasshopper Club Zurich , he replaced Wynton Rufer as the club's best goalscorer, with twelve goals this season in his first season he finished third on the championship goalscorer list behind Iván Zamorano and John Eriksen and led the team coached by Ottmar Hitzfeld to the championship title. In addition, he scored the decisive goal to win the double in the cup final . In the successful defense of the title in the subsequent season, he scored 15 goals, again it was enough for third place on the goalscorer list.

In 1993 De Vicente returned to Argentina and played for Estudiantes de La Plata until the end of 1997 . He then ended his career at the Racing Club . He later worked as a players agent before he was killed in a car accident.
