Adrian Flügel (* 1991 ) is a German lifeguard .

Life

When he was 13 years old, he started lifeguarding. He lived in Magdeburg , trained temporarily in Halle (Saale) and was a sports soldier in Warendorf . At the 2012 World Championships in Australia , he started in four disciplines. He won World Cup gold in the 100 meter rescue with belt rescuer and in the 4 x 50 meter obstacle relay. He also won bronze in the 4 x 25 meter rescue relay team with Christian Ertel , Christoph Ertel and Danny Wieck . He took part in the 2013 World Games in Cali , Colombia . At the European Championships in 2015 he was European champion with the obstacle relay.

Awards

In 2012, in recognition of his sporting success as a lifeguard at the world championships, Flügel was allowed to enter the Golden Book of the city of Magdeburg . In 2013 he was awarded the Silver Laurel Leaf by Federal President Joachim Gauck .
