Adriana Pirtea
Adriana Pirtea (born January 31, 1980 ) is a Romanian long-distance runner .
In 2006 she became national champion over 5000 m and in 2007 over 5000 and 10,000 m . She was tenth at the 2005 World Half Marathon Championship.
She made her debut on the marathon route in 2007 at the Chicago Marathon . At temperatures above 30 ° she and last year's winner Berhane Adere set off from the rest of the field at 30 km . Two kilometers from the finish, she was already 30 seconds ahead of Adere, but noticed too late that her opponent was sprinting up and had to admit defeat, three seconds behind.
Adriana Pirtea is a graduate of the University of Texas at El Paso .
