Adriano Barbano

Adriano Barbano (born January 23, 1923 in Castri di Lecce , † December 16, 1985 in Lecce ) was an Italian film director and documentary filmmaker .

Life

Barbano studied at the Accademia di Arte Drammatica Silvio D'Amico in Rome , made his first documentary, Paese degli olivi , in 1951 , and made his debut as a feature film director in 1964 with Il tramontana , which received a prize from the Ministry of Tourism and the Laceno d'Oro from the Salerno Film Festival won. It should remain his only foray into the feature film.

Barbano founded the private television company TeleLecceBarbano in 1974 and made some award-winning 16mm films. In 1979 he initiated the singing festival in his hometown.
