Life
The daughter of a general practitioner was drawn to music at an early age. So she decided, following her inclination, to devote herself to the singing career. She came to Germany for this purpose, where she made her initial studies with the well-known singing master Auguste Götze in Leipzig. Felix von Kraus , whom she married in 1899, later completed her actual training . The artist found her first engagement at the Leipzig City Theater, which stage she has belonged to since then (for mezzo-soprano roles) until at least 1902.
Osborne, who brings roles like "Carmen", "Cherubin", "Mignon", "Hansel" etc. to an excellent performance, not only became the public darling, but also worked in Vienna, Berlin, Dresden, Hamburg and Bremen , Frankfurt, as well as in Holland, England and America, partly on the stage, partly in the concert hall with increasing success. The excellent singer was recognized in her everywhere.
In 1899 the artist was asked to represent the “Second Norn”, the “Grimgerde” in the “Ring” and the “Second Knappen” in the “Parsifal” in Bayreuth.
Later she worked as a singing teacher
Her voice is preserved on records by Odeon (Vienna, 1903). Her grave is at the cemetery in Zell am Ziller.
