Evangelical Advent Church Munich-Neuaubing

The Evangelical Lutheran Advent Church in Munich-Neuaubing was built between 1938 and 1940 in the then still independent community of Aubing . The architect was Horst Schwabe .

history

The steadily growing community of Aubing increasingly attracted Protestants at the beginning of the 20th century, so that in 1924 the "Evangelical Association of Aubing and Surroundings" was founded. After the first church services in the Neuaubinger Bierstüberl in 1936, the architect Horst Schwabe was commissioned to build the new church in 1937. In 1938 the first vicar got his office in Neuaubing. The future parish was not yet independent and belonged to the parish of Pasing . The foundation stone was laid in the same year. Although the church was only consecrated on the Michaelmas Festival in 1940, the congregation had been celebrating services in the unfinished church since September 1939. In 1939 Neuaubing was also raised to an independent parish, it consisted of the political communities Aubing with Neuaubing , Germering and Unterpfaffenhofen . In 1959 the independent parish Unterpfaffenhofen-Germering was founded. The newly emerging Munich- Freiham district at the beginning of the 21st century belongs to the district of the Advent church.

inner space

The interior impresses with its simplicity. A wooden barrel vault supported by beams gives the otherwise colorless room its warmth. The raised chancel adjoining the apse houses a simple wooden cross on the choir wall. There is a wide wooden altar on the wall below. On the left at the transition from nave to apse there is a wooden pulpit, on the right in the apse the lectern at the original place of the baptismal font, which now stands in the middle in front of the first step to the apse. The specialty of the baptismal font is the material wood, so that in the community the "baptismal tribe" is often used.

organ

The organ of this church originally comes from the mother parish of Pasing and was built in 1904 as Opus 820 by the Steinmeyer organ building workshop for the Ascension Church there. In 1939, the newly created subsidiary community of Aubing received the work as a trousseau . Albert Moser from Munich used it to build a suitable instrument for the newly created church. The organ now has 17 registers spread over two manuals and pedal . The gaming table is attached to the side. The actions are fully pneumatic. The disposition of the Moser organ is as follows:

Bells

The current ringing of the Advent Church is the second in its history and consists of four bells. The first chiming of three chilled cast iron bells from 1919 by Buderus & Humpert (Brilon / Wetzlar) was musically inferior and was removed from the tower in 1995. A new bronze bell was installed on wooden yokes in a new wooden bell chair in the bell room. It impresses with its large and soft sound volume. The bells sound as an “ideal quartet” in the notes f sharp 1 - a 1 - b 1 - d 2 .
