Aelurostrongylus falciformis is a nematode parasitizingin the lungs of the European badger .

A. falciformis is viviparous. The larvae are excreted in the faeces of the final host . The development of infectious third larvae takes place in various snails ( garden slug , garden banded snail , grove banded snail , gray field snail , common amber snail , Euomphalia strigella , Fruticola hispida ). Infection occurs through the ingestion of infected snails. The prepatency is 21 days.
