Aerocalifornia was a Mexican airline . It flew to several dozen airports in Mexico and also connected the metropolises in the southwest of the USA with tourist destinations and hubs in Mexico. Aerocalifornia flights have been suspended since August 2008.

history

The airline was founded in 1960.

Apparently Aero California ceased operations in the first days of April 2006 due to bankruptcy. The airline's website was not accessible, nor were any JR flights bookable (they were no longer displayed in the booking systems).

In July 2006, flight operations were resumed after almost exactly 90 days. With an initial eight DC-9-50, operations within Mexico were resumed and expanded considerably in the course of 2007, as the newly applied low-cost principle seemed to work well.

Despite this, Aerocalifornia had to suspend its flights on July 24, 2008 due to unpaid debts and airports. Since August 2nd, 2008 Aerocalifornia has ceased operations. The website is now offline and the airline cannot be reached by phone.

Surname

The company got its name from the fact that a focus of the route network is in Baja California , where it serves practically all airports, namely: Tijuana , Mexicali , Loreto , La Paz and Los Cabos .
