The village of Aetomilitsa.

Aetomilitsa ( Greek Αετομηλίτσα ; Albanian  Denckë / -a ; Aromanian Densko or Dentsko ) is a village in the north of the Greek region of Epirus . With an altitude between 1420 and 1500 meters above sea level, it is one of the highest villages in Greece.

Aetomilitsa was recognized under the name Dentsikon (Δέντσικον) in 1919 as a rural community (kinotita) , in 1927 initially in Galataria (Γαλαταριά) and finally renamed in 1928 to its current name. The administrative affiliation also changed several times: originally part of the prefecture of Ioannina , it became part of the prefecture of Florina in 1939 , was spun off from Florina in 1941 with the newly founded prefecture of Kastoria and came back to the prefecture of Ioannina in 1950. With the administrative reform in 2010 , it was incorporated into Konitsa with three other municipalities , where it has since formed a municipality and has the status of a local community.
