The baobab Okahao ( English Okahao Baobab ) is an African baobab tree ( Adansonia digitata ) at Okahao in the region Omusati in Namibia . As Okahao Baobab National Heritage Site, it has been a Namibian National Monument since September 1, 2011 .
During the South African mandate there was a military base here . Numerous supporters of the freedom movements are said to have been mistreated and killed under the tree.
