Agdenes fyr is a lighthouse in the community Orkland , province ( Fylke ) Trøndelag . The lighthouse was built in 1804 and was used as such until 1984.

location

Agdnes fyr is located in the former municipality of Agdenes , which has been part of Orkland since early 2020. The main building is built on a hill at the entrance to the Trondheimsfjord . The complex, the Agdenes fyrstasjon , consists of eight buildings.

history

The Agdenes fyr is one of the oldest lighthouses in the area around the city of Trondheim . The proposal to build the building was made in 1802 by Chief Commander CF Tønder. The lighthouse finally started operating in 1804.

The lighthouse was manned until 1984. Then Agdenes fyr was closed and with a freestanding direction light , called Ringflua replaced. The building finally became the property of the Norwegian military in 1988 .

In 2004 the building was bought and restored by Sparebank . Since then, the facility has been rented for private use.
