Age Veeroos

Age Veeroos , also Age Hirv (born May 11, 1973 in Võru ) is an Estonian composer.

Life

Age Veeroos graduated from the University of Tartu with a degree in German studies in 1993 . Until 2006 she studied composition with Helena Tulve and Eino Tamberg at the Estonian Music and Theater Academy (EMTA) in Tallinn . In 2005/2006 she studied at the Karlsruhe University of Music with Wolfgang Rihm . Since 2006 she has been a lecturer at the Estonian Academy of Music and Drama.

In 2002 Age Hirv-Veeroos wrote the work Psalmodia as a commission for the University of Tübingen for its 525th anniversary . In 2008 her short opera Tuleloitsija premiered. She herself wrote the libretto based on a novella by August Gailit . Veeroos has been a member of the Estonian Composers' Union ( Estonian Eesti Heliloojate Liit ) since 2003 .

Age Veeroos was married to the poet Indrek Hirv from 1998 to 2009 . They have one son.
