Indrek Hirv

Indrek Hirv (born December 15, 1956 in Kohila ) is an Estonian poet , visual artist and translator .

life and work

Indrek Hirv went to school in Tartu and graduated from the renowned Hugo-Treffner-Gymnasium . In 1981 he graduated from the Estonian Art Academy in ceramics . Indrek Hirv has been a member of the Estonian Artists 'Association since 1985 and of the Estonian Writers ' Association since 1991 . Today he lives as a freelance artist alternately in Tartu, Tallinn and abroad.

In addition to his own poetry , Hirv is known as a translator, especially for Arthur Rimbaud , Charles Baudelaire and François Villon in Estonian .

Indrek Hirv was married to the composer Age Veeroos . They have one son. Hirv has three daughters from a previous relationship.
