Kohila (German: Koil or Kappakoil ) is a rural community in the Estonian district of Rapla with an area of 230.2 km². It has 6910 inhabitants (January 1, 2009). Kohila is located in the north of the district, about 33 km from Tallinn and 22 km from Rapla .
In addition to the main town Kohila (3549 inhabitants), the rural community today includes the large villages of Hageri and Prillimäe as well as the villages of Aandu, Adila, Aespa, Angerja, Hageri, Kadaka, Lohu , Loone, Lümandu, Masti, Mälivere, Pahkla, Pihali, Pukamäe, Põikma, Rabivere, Rootsi, Salutaguse, Sutlema, Urge and Vilivere.
