Agha Shahi

Agha Shahi (born August 25, 1920 in Bangalore , † September 6, 2006 in Islamabad ) was a Pakistani diplomat and politician . His diplomatic career began in 1951. Between 1967 and 1972 he represented his country as Ambassador to the United Nations in New York ; he was succeeded by Iqbal Ahmed Akhund . From 1977 to 1982 he was Foreign Minister under Mohammed Zia ul-Haq .

Shahi died of a myocardial infarction in September 2006 at the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences .
