Agios Georgios ( Greek Άγιος Γεώργιος ( m. Sg. )) Is a municipality in the northwest of the Greek island of Corfu and formed a municipality from 1997 to 2010; around 35 kilometers from Corfu town . The seat of the municipality was in the village of Agros .

The municipality of Agios Georgios is located in the northwest of the island of Corfu . Neighboring parishes are Esperies in the north and northeast , Feakes in the east and Paleokastritsa in the south .
Administrative division
The municipality of Agios Georgios was founded from 13 rural municipalities as part of the 1997 regional reform and became one of 15 municipal districts in the newly formed municipality of Kerkyra in accordance with the 2010 administrative reform .

Others
The bay of Agios Georgios has a three kilometer long sandy beach and is very popular with individual tourists and families. The approximately 3500 inhabitants live from tourism and agriculture.
In the municipality of Agios Georgios, especially in the picturesque district of Afionas, numerous Germans, including several artists, have settled. This explains why Agios Georgios is the setting for a number of German crime novels by Roberto Bardéz and Ronnith Neumann . The thriller Ionian Night by Demian Baldvin also takes place largely in the bay of Agios Georgios and in the neighboring towns of Afionas, Arillas and Pagi.
