Agnes Evein

Agnès Evein (born November 29, 1963 in Paris ) is a French costume designer .

Life

As the daughter of production designer Bernard Evein and costume designer Jacqueline Moreau , Agnès Evein came into contact with the film business at an early age. After graduating from high school in 1983, she first took drawing courses, then attended schools for decoration and fine arts, and in 1987 earned a diploma in textile design. She eventually became a costume designer like her mother, under whose direction she became active in film in the late 1980s. For example, she was involved in André Delvaux 's 16th century film L'reuvre au noir (1988) and in Bertrand Tavernier's Life and Nothing Else (1989). Also directed by Tavernier, Mother and Daughter created the costumes for D'Artagnan's Daughter (1994) and Captain Conan and the Wolves of War (1996). For the latter film, they both received a nomination for César in the Best Costumes category .

Agnès Evein also worked under the direction of other costume designers. She worked with Sylvie de Segonzac on Jean Becker's film A Summer in the Country (1999), which was set in 1918 . With Agnès Nègre she made costumes for the television film The Unknown from the Seine (2003). Agnès Evein also works as a costume designer at theater and opera.
