André Delvaux

André Delvaux (born March 21, 1926 in Heverlee , Brabant , † October 3, 2002 in Valencia ) was a Belgian film director.

Life

André Delvaux studied German philology, law and music. His first films were documentaries for Belgian television. He made his cinema debut as a feature film director in 1965 with the film The Man Who Had His Hair Cut Short . He took part in the Cannes Film Festival three times and the 1971 Berlinale with his films . In 1975 and 1980 he was a member of the jury at the Cannes Festival. André Delvaux died in Valencia in 2002 after a heart attack.

The Belgian Obedience website names him a Freemason .
