The Odenwälder Freilandmuseum is an open-air museum in Gottersdorf , a district of Walldürn .
description
16 buildings from the Odenwald regions and building land from the 17th to 20th centuries are shown on the site. The houses were removed from their original locations and rebuilt true to the original on the museum grounds .
The museum includes buildings ranging from day laborers' houses to large farms, but also Darren for green growers and a brickworks. Buildings, facilities, machines and tools give realistic insights into the mostly simple living and working world in the area at the time. A post office and a shoemaker's workshop also illustrate rural life. By assigning buildings to the Odenwald construction group or building land construction group, the respective landscape characteristics are taken into account.
The museum is open from April 1st to November 1st.
The sponsor of the museum is the Odenwälder Freilandmuseum e. V.
