Sylvie de Segonzac is a French costume designer .

Life

Sylvie de Segonzac worked as a costume designer in the 1970s for the feature films A Wild Life (1974) and This Obscure Object of Desire (1977), directed by established filmmakers Roger Vadim and Luis Buñuel . However, this was followed by rather insignificant film productions, for which she designed the costume design, before she was awarded the César in the category Best Costumes for Édouard Molinaro's period film A Dinner with the Devil in 1993.

Four years later she was nominated again for a period film by Édouard Molinaro for César for Beaumarchais - The Insolent with Fabrice Luchini in the title role. She received another César nomination in 1999 for the Molière film Don Juan by director Jacques Weber , who also played the leading role alongside Emmanuelle Béart and Penélope Cruz . In the same year de Segonzac designed the costumes for Jean Becker's 1918 film A Summer in the Country . Over the years she has also worked for French television several times, including the 2006 television film Marie-Antoinette with Karine Vanasse in the lead role. She also made the costumes for operas, for example for Jean-Louis Martinotys in Paris and a staging of Mozart's The Marriage of Figaro, which was often performed in Vienna .
