Agnes Negre
Agnès Nègre (born January 8, 1947 in Nogent-sur-Marne , Département Val-de-Marne ) is a French costume designer .
Life
Agnès Nègre has worked as a costume designer for French film and television since 1967. She specialized early on in historical costumes, such as that of the five-part television multi -parter Joséphine ou la comédie des ambitions (1979) about Joséphine de Beauharnais and Napoleon Bonaparte with Christine Kaufmann in a supporting role. In 1982 Nègre designed the costumes for Claude Chabrol's television film La Danse de mort , which is based on a play by August Strindberg , with a spectrum ranging from antiquity to the 1970s . Two years later, Nègre was featured in a cinema production with the action thriller Back Fire .
For Yves Roberts The Fame of My Father (1990), which is the first part of the film adaptation of a novel by Marcel Pagnol , followed by the second part with My Mother's Castle in the same year, Nègre received a nomination for the César in the Best Costumes category . However, she was defeated by Franca Squarciapino , who won the French film award for Cyrano von Bergerac . For the film Soleil , set in Algeria around 1940 , Nègre made the costumes for Sophia Loren , Philippe Noiret and Marianne Sägebrecht in 1997 . Then she was again mainly involved in television productions, including The Foundling from 2000 with Pierre Richard , Veronica Ferres and Sägebrecht.
In addition to her work as a costume designer, Nègre also works as a painter and engraver. In 1990 and 1991 she also worked as a lecturer at the Paris film school La fémis . In addition to lectures on costume design at other film schools, she also gave lectures on history at the Sorbonne . Since 2008 she has been teaching at the École nationale supérieure des arts et techniques du théâtre (ENSATT) in Lyon .
