Agrale is a Brazilian manufacturer of commercial vehicles .

history

The company was founded in 1962 under the name Indústria Gaúcha de Implementos Agrícolas SA - AGRISA to manufacture two-wheeled small tractors. In 1965 the Francisco Stédile Group took over the majority of the shares in AGRISA, renamed the company AGRALE and relocated the company headquarters to Caxias do Sul . In 1968 AGRALE developed a four-wheeled small tractor and produced one and two-cylinder diesel engines. The first truck, the AGRALE TX1100, was developed in 1982. In 1983 the company entered into a technical and economic collaboration with the Italian company Cagiva after acquiring Alpina SA , a Brazilian moped manufacturer. The production of mopeds and motorcycles began, later it was relocated to Manaus . In 1988 AGRALE signed an agreement with the German company Kloeckner Humboldt Deutz and began producing heavy tractors in Brazil and trucks in Argentina.

In 1997 agreements were signed with the Czech tractor manufacturer Zetor with the aim of producing medium-heavy tractors. In the same year an agreement was made with the US truck manufacturer Navistar International to assemble their trucks, which began in 1998. Another contract for the delivery of chassis for the Volare bus model was signed with the bus manufacturer Marcopolo SA, also based in Caxias do Sul . In 2002, AGRALE started production for bus chassis in a new plant in Colombia and presented the Agrale Furgovan delivery van. Since 2003 the company has been working with Lombardi, one of the world's largest manufacturers of diesel engines. Agrale sells and supports Lombardini products in Brazil. In 2004 the off-road vehicle AGRALE MARRUÁ 4x4 was presented. In 2006 AGRALE stopped the motorcycle production in Manaus and announced the cooperation with the Italian MV Agusta group.
