Agurto rock

The Agurto Rock is a small rock island immediately northwest of the Silvia Rock in the middle of the Duroch Islands off the coast of the Trinity Peninsula at the tip of the Antarctic Peninsula .

Participants of the Second Chilean Antarctic Expedition (1947-1948) named them Isla Elena Cerda de Bulnes after the Chilean politician Manuel Bulnes Sanfuentes (1911-1975). Later the name changed to Isla Agurto or Islote Agurto after the name of a boatman on the expedition. The current name goes back to a decision of the Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names in 1964.
