Agustín Navarro (director)
Agustín Navarro Cano (* 1926 in Cartagena ; † July 14, 2001 in Madrid ) was a Spanish film director and screenwriter .
Life
Navarro studied at the Spanish Film Institute in Madrid and in 1951 became assistant to directors such as Carlos Serrano , Luis García Berlanga and José María Forqué . His last work in this role was Marco Ferreri's El pisito .
After three documentaries , he made his first feature film in 1958 , the comedy Quince bajo la lona , which he had followed by ten more of his own by 1971; he wrote the script for two others. His two films, produced in 1962 and 1963, were made in Argentina ; the following year he shot a western . After working in the cinema, he went to Spanish television and taught at the Escuela Oficial de Cinematografía and the Facultad de Ciencias de la Información in Madrid.
