Ahmed López Naranjo (born November 11, 1984 in La Lisa, Havana ) is a former Cuban track cyclist .

In 2002 Ahmed López finished third in the 1000-meter time trial at the UCI World Junior Championships in Melbourne . On August 11, 2002, he presented the Chinese Kunming in this discipline with 1: 01,376 minutes a junior world record on which to date (February 2014) endures.

From 2003 López started in the elite class. At the Pan American Games in the same year he won the gold medal in the 1000 meter time trial. In 2005 he became the Pan American champion in the team sprint , together with Julio Cesar Herrera and Reiner Cartaya . In 2006, he finished in the Central American and Caribbean Games in Cartagena second place in the sprint . At the Pan American Cycling Championships in 2007 he won the time trial and team sprint titles (with Herrera and Yosmani Pol ).

In 2004 Ahmed López started at the Olympic Games in Athens and finished ninth in the time trial and tenth in the team sprint (with Cartaya and Herrera)

In 2009, López, together with Yosmani Pol and the junior cyclist Odaimis Álvarez, who had just won two gold medals, went to the USA on the occasion of the Pan-American Championships in Mexico . In 2010 he became the Sprint Champion in Florida , where he lives today.
