Nasir-ud-Din Ahmed Shah I (around 1392; † 1443 ) was the 2nd Sultan of Gujarat from 1411 until his death ; he belonged to the regional dynasty of the Muzaffarids , which has nothing to do with the Persian dynasty of the same name .

Life

Not much is known about Ahmed Shah's life; at the age of 19 he became Sultan of Gujarat and resided in Ahmedabad. At the beginning of his rule he had to deal with constant rebellions of his cousins Moid-ud-dín Fírúz Khán and Masti Khán. But other local and regional princes also called on the Sultan of Malwa , Hoshang Shah , to intervene in Gujarat; they were all defeated in advance or fled. The regional princes of Sorath / Junagadh , who had taken in some of the rebels, were also subjected to tribute in 1414 . In the years from 1418 to 1423 Ahmad Shah was politically and militarily involved in Khandesh and Malwa ; this was followed by two years without military campaigns. In the years 1425 to 1428 he turned to the Rajput principality of Idar, which was finally also made tribute. From 1429 to 1431 he sent parts of his armies under the leadership of his son Jafar Khan to the east ( Champaner ) and southeast ( Mahim , Thane ) of today's Gujarat. In 1432 he made the Rajput cities of Kota and Bundi subject to tribute. There is no news from the last years of his reign.
