Ahmed Wardak

Ahmed Hamid Wardak (born January 13, 1988 in Wardak , Afghanistan ) is a German cricketer .

As a teenager he played cricket for a club in Quetta , a city in western Pakistan. In 2010 he went back to Afghanistan and played in the 2011 ODN Provicial Elite Cup . He was then appointed to the A-squad of the Afghan national cricket team , but went to Germany in 2012, where he has represented the German national team since 2015.

National

In the German Cricket Bundesliga he plays for SG Findorff and has already won the German championship with them.

International

He was appointed to the German team for the ICC World Cricket League Division Five 2017 tournament in South Africa , where he played the opening game against Ghana on September 3, 2017.

In May 2019 he was called up for a series of the German Twenty20 International (T20I) team against Belgium , which were the first T20Is of the German cricket team. His T20I debut took place during the series on May 11, 2019.

In the same month he was nominated in the German squad for the European regional finals for qualifying for the T20 World Cup in Guernsey .
