Ahmet Muminović

Ahmet Muminović (* 1945 in Gornji Vakuf ; † January 24, 2019 in Sarajevo ) was a Yugoslav comic book artist and author and journalist.

Life

Ahmet Muminović has been involved in painting, illustrating and drawing comics since childhood. His first comic was published in the Male Novine newspaper in 1968. From 1972 until the beginning of the Bosnian War in 1992 he worked as an editor of the same newspaper.

He has published numerous comics, children's books, articles, and columns. His works have been published in Sweden, Finland, France, Spain, China, Turkey and Austria. He achieved his greatest success with “Valter brani Sarajevo” (new edition: Agarthi Comics, 2014), a comic based on the life of the partisan Vladimir Perić (1919–1945) alias Valter, which was sold over eight million times in China alone. Muminović died in Sarajevo on January 24, 2019 at the age of 74.
