AIDS aid Switzerland
The Aids-Hilfe Switzerland (AHS) is the national umbrella organization of 21 cantonal and regional AIDS -Hilfen and 31 other organizations that are active in AIDS / HIV.
The association was founded in 1985 by homosexual men and was chaired by André Ratti in 1985/86 . Its most important goals are to prevent new infections with the HI virus, to improve the quality of life of people with HIV / AIDS and their loved ones and to strengthen society's solidarity with HIV-positive people, their families and friends.
The association is a non-profit organization and is financed from funds from the Federal Office for Health and from private donations. The members are legally and financially independent of the umbrella organization.
The seat is in Zurich . From 2012 to the end of 2014 the FDP national councilor Doris Fiala was president, currently Martin Klöti is taking over this office. The managing director is Andreas Lehner.
