Hansen made her debut in Looming in the early 1980s and published her first volume of poetry in 1982, which was soon followed by more. While the reviews of the first volumes of poetry were critical, the later poetry was certified to be "clearer and more perfect". At the same time, reference is made to the author's religiosity, which has already been mentioned and noted in earlier volumes, where Hansen is referred to as a continuer of the “religious tradition in Estonian poetry” and placed in line with Ernst Enno and Uku Masing .
