The Aka Iwa ( japanese 赤岩 , Red Rock ' ) is a hill from pegmatite at the Prince Olav Coast in the East Antarctic Queen Maud Land . It towers over Temmondai Rock .
Japanese scientists discovered and named it on November 24, 1981 in the course of geological investigations carried out here.
