description

At 14.5 to 16 centimeters in length, it is one of the larger warblers. It looks similar to the Orpheus warbler , but has a longer, rounded tail than this, white tips and no white edges on the outer tail feathers. In contrast to the Orpheus warbler, the iris is dark and the eye ring is lighter. Males and females look the same and have a darker head than the males of the Orpheus warbler. In the plain dress , the head and back are brownish. Immature have a brownish gray parting.

The acacia warbler is comparatively shy and restless in movement in its habitat. She keeps flapping her tail down.

voice

The call is a clicking "t (r) ack" that is repeated several times. The clear, melodious singing consists of short stanzas with large tone jumps. It is reminiscent of the blackcap and the eastern orpheus warbler.

Habitat and Distribution

The acacia warbler lives in open landscapes of semi-deserts and savannas . It lives mainly in acacia stands , in which it also breeds.

Their distribution area is the east of Africa and the west of the Arabian Peninsula .
