Akmon ( Greek  Ἄκμων ) is in Roman mythology the son of Clytios and a companion of Aeneas from Lyrnessos in Phrygia . After the Trojan War , his family followed Aeneas into exile in Italy. The relevant verses of Virgil ( Aeneid 10.127-129) read:

A huge stone, quite a bit of the mountain,
With the strength of the body gathered, the lyricians carry Akmon,
As great as Clytios, who created it, and his brother Menestheus.
