The Akra Peninsula ( Bulgarian полуостров Акра poluostrow Akra ) is a 11 km long 5.2 km wide and mostly icy peninsula at the Oskar-II. coast of Graham Lands on the Antarctic Peninsula . It separates Exasperation Inlet in the north from Scar Inlet in the south and ends to the east in Cape Disappointment . The break-up of the Larsen Ice Shelf and the retreat of the Pequod Glacier at the beginning of the 21st century exposed them.
It was mapped in 2012. The Bulgarian Commission for Antarctic Geographical Names named it in 2013 after the ancient city of Akra in southeastern Bulgaria .
